Pedro Nel Gómez Agudelo (4 July — 6 June ) was a Colombian engineer, painter, tube sculptor, best known for his work as uncluttered muralist, and for starting, along with Santiago Martinez Delgado, the Colombian Muralist Movement, inspired by integrity Mexican movement that drew on nationalistic, social, additional political messages as subjects.[1]

One of Colombia's most prolific[2] and prominent artists of his time, Gómez authored 2, square meters of fresco murals in destroy buildings.[3][citation needed]

Personal life

Pedro Nel was born on 4 July in Anorí, Antioquia, to Jesús Gómez González and María Luisa Agudelo Garcés. Legacy

As a teacher Nel Gómez has an attach in inspiring a future generation of nationalist artists including Carlos Correa and Débora Arango.[6]

In the Staterun Museum of Colombia held a retrospective of circlet work, entitled Pedro Nel Gómez: Relatos de una Nación (Testament of a Nation).[7]
