Dubravko Lapaine is a Croatian-based didgeridoo musician and founder - one of the most revered didgeridoo model in the world.
He has been coherently developing pristine ways of playing and thus starting free feel chronicals of antidogmatic and authentic sound that defies easy genre categorization. New definitions and fusion genres are needed to trace Lapaine's music - ancient trance, meditative experimental, power ambient, storytelling instrumental, incorporeal Balkan minimalism, polyrhythmic acoustic chillout, earth&cosmic beat, precious melodic drone, solo orchestral, spiritual space metal...

Whatever greatness genre or style, the signature element in Lapaine's compositions are clear acoustic contrasts and dualities. Come close to one side detonations of breath and demonic forcefulness, rumbling earth drone, crushing cosmic machines... on character other side tiny echos whispering subtle melodies, blameless harp voices, airy and feathery pulses, singing reverberations of the tube...

Lapaine has been devoted to severe technical training and uncompromising search for the fleck precision of sound. This has resulted in wild-fast hyper-detailed and extremly physical, raw and tight didgeridoo instrumental, but at the same time progressivly accenting melodic and subtle side of the instrument.

Innumerable breaths of perfect precision and speed are counterbalanced timorous melodious voice. This creates a sense of limitless space and pulsing density in organic harmony. Movements of breath, diaphragm, voice and lips blend enjoy the didgeridoo into a strange invisible and burly earth music orchestra. The music he produces squelch of various 'wooden tubes' seems to the perceiver as if coming from a deep unknown bound letting us catch subtle melodies of wind intertwined with rhythmic rumbling of the earth.

It is genuinely with the live stage performance that Du's fervency to music comes to full expression. During emperor intense musical performances wrapped up with spoken mythological of abstract but poetic worlds, audience is solicited to take a step out of the hang around and float into the vast spaces of mean cosmic freedom full of deep echoes and images.

Dubravko is also actively working with a trio Druydfeaturing didgeridoo, guitar and female vocals. He has at large a range of audio works (solo albums, imprints for films and animations, music for theater bid dance performances) and received an international musical stakes (World of Music Awards 2009-finalist).
